The No.1 Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 was a particularly exciting project, offering the rare opportunity to fully control the lighting environment due to the absence of natural daylight. This allowed the team at Akarui to create a warm, cosy, and elegant atmosphere tailored entirely through artificial lighting. The lounge features a series of distinct zones, each with its own character, requiring a flexible and nuanced lighting strategy. Working with Atrium and integrating the Casambi lighting control system, we were able to fine-tune the light levels across the space, enhancing the sense of calm and comfort the client desired for travellers preparing to begin their journeys.
