Last April, as per yearly tradition, some members of the Atrium team flew from London to Milan to attend and participate in one of the most significant design events of the year: Il Salone del Mobile. Founded in 1961 as a way of promoting Italian furniture, “il Salone” soon became the most awaited and popular event in the world of interior design, and it still is.
Of course, we could not miss it!
Here is a summary of what Atrium did at the Salone del Mobile and an overview of the products our brands presented at Euroluce 2023.
One of the many exhibitions of this unmissable trade fair is Euroluce, a biennial International Lighting Exhibition that blends technology and poetry, architecture and design. Here, all the leading brands of lighting design are brought together to present their very latest devices and knowledge in the field of lighting, be it for outdoor, indoor or industrial purposes (and many more!).
This year, at its 31st edition, Euroluce’s exhibitions developed around the concept of The City of Lights to create powerful interdisciplinary cultural content and introduce a huge array of goods brought by the best international design companies.
Euroluce can easily be considered the most avant-garde exhibition in the area of eco-sustainability and energy saving in the global decorative and the lighting technology sectors.
This year, two of our brands presented their innovative designs: Intra Lighting and FLOS. Let’s have a detailed look at the products featured during Euroluce 2023 at the Salone del Mobile di Milano.
Intra lighting is a family-owned company that works closely with architects, designers and engineers around the globe to create engaging lighting solutions for all kinds of spaces. Here is what Intra Lighting presented at Euroluce this year:
Vyko is the perfect choice for offices and large open spaces. Its advanced all-in-one design is able to create various personalized micro ambiances, and its 3D eco-friendly panels guarantee great acoustic performance.
If you are looking to illuminate an elegant space without source glare, Liy is the perfect choice. Although it is no ordinary spotlight, it can still be fixed or flexible, which will allow for infinite combinations of beam angles and orientation.
Whether oriented vertically, horizontally or in any other inclination, Lysabel will bring a touch of sophistication to your space. It can be mounted as a single light source or in creative compositions. Its versatility and aesthetics are uniquely powerful.
Gramm’s main feature is its ability to rotate: in just one move, this round-shaped luminaire can transform from elegant and focused to a source of pleasant, indirect light.
Eye is no ordinary spotlight. Its careful design is clean and elegant, and it allows for a 360-degree rotation, making it the perfect light source for hospitality, retail and private residences.
Flos returned to Euroluce 2023 to present this year’s new releases. At its stand, visitors were guided on a journey to meet the new lighting designs, with luminaires from both new designers and long-time collaborators.
Konstantin Grcic design borrows its name from a famous punk rock band, and for a reason. The new creation embodies a rebellious spirit within a minimal form. The result is a bold and highly functional luminaire.
Flos Architectural introduced this new workspace solution: a contemporary family that includes suspension, ceiling, track and floor designs. Their subtle forms are paired with state-of-the-art technology that emits light both upwards and downwards.
Emi is a new luminaire designed by Erwan Bouroullec that creates light from shadow. Using unique Flos technology, invisible light sources reflect off different surfaces, while the body itself remains dark. The result is an incredible visual comfort combined with contemporary design.
Playful yet precise, Philippe Malouin’s first lamp for Flos was inspired by a 16th-century French ball game and by magnetic ball joints. Bilboquet is a fully adjustable futuristic lamp that exudes personality.
Flos dives into the world of ceramics for the first time with Céramique, the newest and entirely handcrafted luminaire by Ronan Bouroullec, who found a balance between functionality and pleasure.
Born from the genius of Gino Sarfatti in 1958, 2097 hasn’t aged a bit. The novelty of this take on the traditional Murano glass chandelier? It is now available in a stunningly elegant matte white.
On the outer area of Flos’ stand at Euroluce we also found a selection of products from Flos Outdoor, which included two new solutions – Ingraze and Spine 0 by Vincent Van Duysen, which reaffirmed the company’s conscious and responsible approach to lighting.
